The Tax March is an international movement of people coming together to demand transparency and financial disclosure by President Trump. Every march and marcher has their own specific reasons and set of principles which have led them to believe this transparency is necessary.

Columbus, Ohio March Principles

The American public has the right to know what financial relationships and potential conflicts of interest their elected leaders have.

Therefore, our demands are simple:

  • Mr. Trump must immediately release his tax returns from the last 10 years with all schedules.
  • If Mr. Trump continues to refuse to release his tax returns, we demand our legislators at the state and federal level legislate to release them perforce.
  • In order to avoid this situation with any future presidential candidates, Congress must enact legislation requiring this president and future presidential candidates to disclose their tax returns as a prerequisite to entering the presidential race.

We Demand an Economy That Works for Everyone
We believe that America is strongest when everyone has the opportunity to succeed.  Tax cuts for the wealthy do not create a just economy.

We Demand an Open Government
Elected officials should not use their offices to benefit monetarily.  Mr. Trump must either divest from his businesses or resign.  The Trump family should not be using tax-payer money to support their personal business trips.  The Trump family should not be charging rent to the security put in place on their properties.

We Demand a Fair Tax System
The current federal tax system, which allows and even encourages the wealthy and corporations to avoid paying their fair share of taxes, is fundamentally rigged, unjust and broken.

We Believe We Have a Responsibility to Each Other
Tax Day reminds us that a strong and prosperous society requires that everyone contribute. Mr. Trump needs to pay his taxes, not evade them through loopholes.

We Believe in People Over Corporations
We call for an end to corporate tax loopholes. We need to put fair pay for working people above corporate profits.

We Believe in Peace
We believe that peaceful, non-violent demonstration and organization is the best way to effectively spread our message.  This event will be nonviolent and will not involve any civil disobedience or other violation of the law.
